GiveNOLA Day is a philanthropic day of giving to inspire people to give generously to nonprofits and make our Southeast Louisiana community thrive.  AxoSim is committed to investing in the future of New Orleans and supporting local youth. We were honored to support two great local nonprofits this year- STEM NOLA and Son of a Saint.

Founded by New Orleans native and former tenured Tulane University Engineering professor Dr. Calvin Mackie, STEM NOLA is committed to exposing, inspiring, and engaging members of the community into the world of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). AxoSim participated in their STEM@home virtual learning series that began during the pandemic to offer virtual learning opportunities for their students. Our science team created a fun lesson showing students how to make neurons and test DNA. More than 300 children ages 5 to 12 attended the free webinar from 14 different states and 2 countries.

During the holidays AxoSim partnered with Son of a Saint to adopt one of their families. The organization was founded by Bivian “Sonny” Lee III, son of former Saints defensive back Bivian Lee Jr. who passed away when Sonny was three. Son of a Saint transforms the lives of fatherless boys through mentorship, emotional support, development of life skills, exposure to constructive experiences, and formation of positive, lasting peer-to-peer relationships. The relationship between Son of a Saint mentors and mentees goes past the program age and into adulthood.

AxoSim is thankful for these community partnerships and looks forward to continuing its work with local youth.
